June Dye Pot - Bright Yellow or Olive Green
This is a brand new offering for us; send us your pre-loved garments and we’ll freshen up the colour in our small batch dye service to help keep them in your wardrobe and out of landfill. We’ll be launching a new dye recipe as often as we can - but hopefully soon once a month!
Our June colours are bright yellow, which is dyed using Weld, and Olive Green, which is dyed using Weld and Iron Sulphate. The natural dyes are always grown in our field here in South Devon and are certified Organic. These colours will be available to anyone who purchases the service by the last day of June. Garments will be posted back to you a few weeks into July.

FABRIC
The garment you send must be made from natural fibres, as natural dyes only bond to these (cotton, hemp, linen, wool, silk, etc), and not synthetic fibres (polyester, acetate, etc). Note that if your garment is constructed with a synthetic thread in the seams, the thread may not change colour with the fabric. The dye has potential to change the finish of any hardware on your garment, including buttons, zips, etc.
COSTING
The cost of one item, up to 500g, is £30. Anything heavier than this weight will be invoiced at £25/500g extra once the garment has been received.
POSTAGE
This service is only available within the UK.
Once you have booked the dye pot, we will email you with the correct address to send your garment to. Please select the 2nd Class postage charge at checkout and this will cover the return of your item.

What to Expect and How to Care For Naturally Dyed Garments
While we use the same recipe for all garments dyed in the community dye pot, we can not guarantee an exact shade match to images used to advertise this service. All fibres accept dyes differently, and even two pieces of cotton from different mills may exhibit slightly different shades. We value the organic nature of working with plant dyes and we hope you do to.
Natural dyes should be cared for mindfully. Your naturally dyed item will keep colour longest with the following:
Wash at 30 degrees, maximum
Use a gentle detergent (eco is best)
Store / dry out of direct light
Avoid stain removers
Please be aware that over dyeing garments that have been worn previously may exhibit previously unseen stains after dyeing. It could be that after being mordanted and dyed, the garment may have darker markings under the armpits, where aluminium-based deodorant permeated the fibre. Also note that plant based dye does not create a perfectly even colour, and tonal variations my be present in the fibre.
We do not offer refunds for this service. If you purchase and change your mind of about which colour you want, you are able to transfer your order to a different colour or future community dye pot.
We do insure our packages, though we are only able to insure the packages we ship for the amount paid for the dye service. We are not responsible for lost shipments, though we will help to recover any insurance money for a lost package.
