St John’s Wort (Hypericum Perforatum) is a perennial plant that can grow quite tall in its later years. It has tiny, sweet yellow flowers that take forever to pick! They also stain your fingers purple or red. Theres a curious thing about St John’s Wort; it can produce four different colours with no modifier added! A great one for demonstrations.
The plant has medicinal properties that are beneficial for depression, minor burns, cuts and sores, however the active ingredients can be very harmful or even lethal when taken alongside other medicines.
